Pedagogical discourse on the new Ukrainian school 1917–1921: using newly gained independence to reach out to the world’s ideas after the fall of the Russian Empire

This article explores the leading ideas of Ukrainian educators and reform school education in era revolution (1917–1921), context values both Europe wider world. Under Soviet rule (1921–1991), this period was obscured by a false narrative, but with proclamation Ukraine’s independence 1991, page history has been rightfully restored scientific space democratic state. For international audience, it will be interesting to study use world pedagogical thought during development more than hundred years ago as an example great expectations subsequent lost hopes. School Ukraine should based on national, humanist principles. Unfortunately, defeated, Bolshevik forces captured Ukraine; nevertheless, its achievements laid foundations for creation national system modern independent Ukraine.
